Dave Brand
Dave Brand has decided to leave us for a warmer climate in Lanzarote.

This
comes as a shock as we are not sure whether they actually play cricket
there! Dave made his debut on May 5th 1992 when he was bowled by Brian
Hall for 3! He went on to play 131 games and score 231 runs with a
best of 26. Dave is one of only five Dee Valley Bowlers to take more
than 100 wickets with 113 and best bowling figures of 3 for 9. He
will be missed by all our players who wish him every success in his
new life abroad. He is sure to adapt well to a new lifestyle with
all the determination and staying power you would expect from a Chester
City fan- good luck Dave! |

Richard Hulmes
Richard has packed his bags and decided a new life in Australia was the way forward.

Richie
(Humo or Gromit) as he was better known has been an excellent member
of the team and progressed to opening batsman, vice captain, assistant
groundsman and a valued member of the post match drinking club.
He won the bowling award in 1997, batting award in 2002 and was
voted player of the year in 1994, 1995 and 1999 but his greatest
honour was the duck award in 1993. We
wish both him, Pat and their 2 children (Rebecca and Lauren) well
in their new venture. This also provides us with a possible venue
for a forthcoming tour |

Mr Wyn Jones We were all saddened by the sudden death of Wyn “Jonesy” Jones on 22nd December 2002. He
was always the joker of the team and would do almost anything for
a laugh! He made his debut in 1989 against Gobowen Hospital and played
in 92 games, took 41 wickets (at 23.61 runs) and made 72 runs. All
the tour party in Newcastle will surely best remember him for his
large, white underpants which earned him the nickname Ghandi. He leaves
his wife, Janet and three grown up sons, Gareth, Andrew and Phil.
He will always be fondly remembered, especially by Mike to whom he
was drinking and darts partner, neighbour and best mate. Cheers Jonesy! |
